November 2016 – Ökologische Belange gehören nun zum Aufgabenkatalog der Filmförderungsanstalt (FFA). Dies schreibt die neue Fassung des Filmförderungsgesetzes (FFG) vor, das vom Deutschen Bundestag gebilligt wurde und 2017 in Kraft tritt.
„Diese Neuerung bringt das Thema Nachhaltigkeit auch bundesweit im Filmbereich auf die Agenda. Das betrifft die Filmproduktion ebenso wie Kinos und Festivals, wo das Bewusstsein wächst und Bedarf besteht. Das ‚Grünes Kino‘ hat ökologische und ökonomische ebenso wie soziale Dimensionen,“ so Walter Spruck von der Initiative Grünes Kino.
Durch die Änderungen im Filmförderungsgesetz (FFG-§2) gehört es zu den Aufgaben der Filmförderungsanstalt (FFA), die Filmwirtschaft „unter Berücksichtigung ökologischer Belange zu unterstützen.“ Zudem wird auf die Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie der Bundesregierung hingewiesen.
Bei der Erstellung des Gesetzentwurfs wurden die Managementregeln der Nationalen Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie der Bundesregierung einbezogen. Nachhaltigkeit zielt auf die Erreichung von Generationengerechtigkeit, sozialem Zusammenhalt, Lebensqualität und Wahrnehmung internationaler Verantwortung. Daher sollen wirtschaftliche Leistungsfähigkeit, der Schutz der natürlichen Lebensgrundlagen und soziale Verantwortung so zusammengeführt werden, dass Entwicklungen dauerhaft tragfähig sind. Der Gesetzentwurf entspricht diesem Ziel einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung.
